Centuries years ago a heavily outnumbered and underequiped Scottish force stood on the fields of Falkirk. They were led by William Wallace, the Guardian of Scotland. He led his troops against an oppressive English King, Edward I. Some of the battle details are sketchy but following the battle only a third of the Scottish force remained. Even so the Scotts inflicted heavy losses on Edward and most of his army was forced to disband soon after the battle. Despite the obvious fallout, partly chronicled in "Braveheart," the Scotts continued to fight and eventually did win their independence.
